Senior Accountant

About the role

Spectrum Safety Solutions is a global leader in fire detection and suppression solutions. The Senior Accountant will support HQ functional activities, drive process improvements, and ensure accurate accounting and internal controls.

Responsibilities

• Perform and support monthly close related activities in a timely manner
• Prepare and ensure accurate journal entries, miscellaneous invoices, financial statements, and account reconciliations
• Reconcile sub-ledgers to general ledgers
• Aid in ensuring bills are paid and recorded in a timely and accurate manner
• Analyze monthly results to ensure accurate reporting for each accounting period
• Work closely with business partners and support external related audits
• Develop process efficiencies and make improvements to assigned accounting processes
• Maintain appropriate internal controls
• Participate in ad-hoc tasks/projects as needed

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Finance or Accounting
• 5-7 years experience
• Self-motivated, able to work independently
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
• MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams)
• JDE and Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) system knowledge

Qualifications

• Preferred MBA, CPA/CMA
