About the role

Cherry Bekaert Recruiting is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Senior Accountant. This role will play a key part in financial reporting, month-end close activities, cash management, variance analysis, and audit support. The ideal candidate will have strong full-cycle accounting experience and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
• Perform month-end close activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
• Conduct balance sheet and bank reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
• Support cash management activities, including monitoring cash flow and maintaining cash forecasts.
• Perform variance analysis and investigate fluctuations between actual and budgeted results.
• Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Support internal and external audit requests, ensuring documentation is complete and audit-ready.
• Maintain compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with operations and management teams to provide financial insights and support business decisions.
• Assist with process improvements and internal control initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
• 3+ years of full-cycle accounting experience required.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles.
• Experience preparing reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close schedules.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems.
• Experience with Yardi and/or Bill.com is a plus.
• Experience within real estate, construction and development, or logistics environments is highly preferred.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively across departments.
