We’re only just getting started The Opportunity The Senior Accountant is responsible for all core accounting and related compliance activities at Cala Health. In this fast-paced environment, you will own the month-end close, support SOX and public-company readiness initiatives, and partner with cross-functional teams to streamline our financial controls. Title: Senior Accountant Reports to: Controller Location: Hybrid, 3 days a week Employment type: Full-time, exempt Pay range: $115,000 - $126,000 Final compensation is based on experience, skills, market benchmarks, and internal equity** Responsibilities:. Serve as a key player in the month/quarter/year end close processTake ownership of month-end and quarter-end accounting close for areas of functional responsibility, including preparing monthly journal entries and account reconciliationsTake lead on monthly revenue reconciliation processPerform monthly analysis of account balances and expenses versus history and budgets Collaborate with the accounting team on internal and external auditsBecome a thought leader on technical accounting matters along with drafting of technical accounting memos and process flow chartsSubmission of monthly sales tax to various state government agenciesDevelop and perform procedures to ensure SOX compliancePrepare accounting schedules and analysis routinely, and as requested, for internal and external reporting and audit requirementsTeam up with cross functional teams to implement accounting process improvements Establish rapport with other team members, build effective relationships, and share wins and successesComplete ad hoc projects and support accounting operations as necessary Qualifications & Skills Minimum of 3 years of experience working in a public company or as an auditor (Big 4 experience a plus)Preferably with CPA or working towards CPA designation or equivalent certification.Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting or its equivalent Strong understanding of financial accounting principles (US GAAP) Strong analytical skills and attention to detailAbility to apply policies and standards consistentlyAble to meet deadlines Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis, or eligible for work authorization through a sponsorship path that Cala Health is able to support.
