Senior Accountant
About the role
The Senior Accountant supports the company's financial operations through accurate and timely maintenance of accounting records and reporting. This role requires a high degree of attention to detail, effective multitasking, and a commitment to delivering high-quality work within established deadlines in a remote setting.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and post journal entries, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with company accounting policies and U.S. GAAP.
- Perform daily reconciliations of bank, credit card, and USPTO (U.S. Patent and Trademark Office) accounts, ensuring transactions are accurately recorded and reconciling items are promptly investigated and resolved.
- Participate in the month-end and year-end close processes, including preparing account reconciliations, recording monthly accruals, analyzing allowance accounts, and reviewing equity activity.
- Gather, analyze, and transform financial and operational data to support management reporting, decision-making, and strategic initiatives.
- Develop, maintain, and enhance reports using Excel, PowerBI, and other reporting tools to support KPI tracking and performance analysis.
- Work collaboratively in a remote environment with cross-functional teams located across multiple U.S. time zones, maintaining strong communication and responsiveness.
- Support special projects and other accounting or finance initiatives as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree with a Finance or Accounting major required.
- 3+ years of progressive accounting experience required.
- Hands-on experience with Aderant and Emburse (Chrome River) is strongly preferred; familiarity with QuickBooks, Ramp, and Bill.com is also desirable.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification not required but a plus.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required.
