Senior Accountant

Responsibilities

• Aid the Controller and CFO in daily, monthly, and year-end Accounting Department operations
• Implement and refine accounting procedures through analysis of current operations and recommendations
• Analyze and reconcile accounts, including bank statements, fixed assets, accruals, and prepaid expenses
• Record and verify transactions related to Accounts Payable
• Create and analyze monthly budget/forecast variance reports by department
• Support payroll administration, including filing, union reporting, and certified payroll
• Address accounting and financial inquiries by researching and interpreting data
• Prepare and remit monthly Workers Compensation Insurance
• Prepare and remit monthly State Gross Receipts Tax
• Generate reports for payroll to comply with State and Federal requirements quarterly
• Develop and maintain efficient accounting processes and procedures
• Show superior oral and written communication, along with analytical skills
• Prioritize, multitask, delegate tasks, and forecast financial variables
• Show knowledge in GAAP, finance, budgeting, strategic planning, and operational management
• Meet physical demands including long hours sitting, using a computer, standing, pulling/pushing, walking, lifting, and climbing
• Show intermediate computer proficiency and advanced critical thinking skills
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
• Relevant work experience (4+ years) may substitute for the degree
• 3+ Years of Accounting or Finance experience required
