Senior Accountant

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Perform month-end close processes specifically but not limited to areas such as fixed assets, leases, and payroll to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Prepare, review, and reconcile general ledger accounts and supporting schedules.
  • Absorb daily accounting projects, process improvements, and special initiatives as assigned.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and applicable regulations.
  • Oversee payroll accounting activities for AVP and SEES entities.
  • Reconcile payroll-related accounts and ensure accurate recording of payroll transactions, benefits, taxes, and accruals.
  • Partner with Human Resources and Payroll teams to resolve discrepancies and support audit requirements.
  • Maintain accounting records and controls related to medical and optical inventory.
  • Monitor inventory valuation, reconciliations, and inventory-related financial reporting.
  • Partner with operational leaders to ensure inventory accuracy and effective inventory management practices.
  • Maintain accounting records for equipment leases across the organization, excluding leases managed by CBRE.
  • Manage lease schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documentation.
  • Track new lease activity and modifications.
  • Assist with business license registrations, renewals, and compliance requirements across operating locations.
  • Coordinate and maintain property tax filings and related documentation.
  • Assist with external audits and requests from regulatory agencies.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Assist in workload prioritization and departmental planning.

Requirements

  • Required: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting principles.
  • Experience managing month-end close processes.
  • Experience with payroll accounting and account reconciliations.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • PREFERRED: Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation.
  • Experience in healthcare, medical practice management, or optical eye care organizations.
  • Experience accounting for medical or healthcare-related inventory.
  • Knowledge and practical application of ASC 842 lease accounting.
  • Experience with business licenses and property tax compliance.
  • Sage Intacct experience strongly preferred.
