Atlantic Strategic Minerals (ASM) is an emerging producer of critical minerals, dedicated to revitalizing its heavy mineral sands mining and mineral processing operations in Virginia. Responsibilities
- Produce accurate and timely financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) in accordance with U.S. GAAP and company policies.
- Analyze actual results versus budget and forecast, with focus on mining production costs, equipment utilization, and recovery rates.
- Partner with site leadership to support operational efficiency and cost control initiatives.
- Serve as primary administrator for the company's ERP system (SAP Business One).
- Prepare and review reconciliations for key balance sheet accounts, including cash, inventories, asset retirement obligations, and fixed assets.
- Support the maintenance of a strong internal control environment in line with corporate and regulatory standards.
- Prepare audit schedules and provide documentation for internal and external auditors.
- Monitor and analyze production costs, standard costing, and work-in-progress (WIP).
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Minimum 5–7 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2+ years in the mining, natural resources, or heavy manufacturing industry.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, cost accounting, fixed asset register, and inventory valuation methods (FIFO, weighted average, standard cost).
- Advanced proficiency with ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- CPA designation (active or in progress) preferred.
