Senior Accountant
About the Opportunity
Ascenso Tires North America is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team at our North American headquarters in Hudson, Ohio. The Senior Accountant will manage essential day-to-day accounting functions, including banking, fixed asset accounting, general ledger activity, account reconciliations, month-end closing, financial reporting, and audit support. This position will also provide guidance and support to the Accounting Department while working closely with domestic and global colleagues, company leadership, customers, vendors, government agencies, and external auditors.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable postings.
- Oversee company bank accounts and reconcile daily banking transactions and monthly statements.
- Prepare and maintain general ledger entries, journal entries, and monthly accruals.
- Investigate and correct account discrepancies and ensure the accuracy and integrity of the trial balance.
- Complete month-end closing activities.
- Prepare cost reports, revenue reports, balance sheets, financial statements, and other accounting records.
- Assist with annual audit preparation and provide documentation and support to external auditors.
- Process and maintain periodic operating tax filings, including Sales and Use Tax, Personal Property Tax, and GST/HST.
- Provide ad hoc reporting and accounting support as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
- Three to five years of professional accounting experience.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, terminology, and procedures.
- Experience working with ERP systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Attention to detail, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with minimal supervision.
