Senior Accountant
About the role
The Senior Accountant plays a critical role in maintaining the financial health of ConciAir. This role is for someone who is ready to make an impact, and grow with a fast-paced, evolving company. The role is responsible for accurately managing daily financial transactions, leading month-end and year-end close processes, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
Responsibilities
- Own daily accounting activities, including general ledger transactions, AR, bank and credit card reconciliations, and journal entries.
- Lead the monthly close process, including accruals, reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
- Maintain accurate and timely financial records in QuickBooks Online.
- Ensure accounting practices comply with GAAP and company policies.
- Provide support and guidance to Accounts Payable clerk.
- Prepare monthly financial statements and management/owner reporting.
- Analyze financial results, investigate variances, and identify trends or opportunities.
- Review P&L activity by aircraft and ensure accurate revenue and expense classification.
- Reconcile financial information across QuickBooks and aviation reporting systems.
- Manage A/R aging, collections follow-up, and miscellaneous receivables.
- Prepare weekly charter billing and monitor payment activity.
- Aid with cash management and banking activities.
- Track refunds, credits, and outstanding balances.
- Support sales tax filings and other accounting compliance requirements.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, reporting, and efficiency.
- Support special projects and evolving business needs as the company grows.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Accounting or Finance.
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with strong general ledger, reconciliation, month-end close, and financial reporting experience.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial statement preparation.
- Advanced Excel skills, including formulas, pivot tables, and financial analysis.
- Experience with QuickBooks Online is preferred.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a small team.
- Self-motivated, adaptable, and comfortable taking ownership in a fast-changing environment.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work directly with leadership and other departments.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and flexible to evolving business needs.
Work Schedule and Classification
This position is classified as exempt which means it is not eligible for overtime pay. As an exempt employee, you are expected to manage your time effectively to meet the responsibilities of your role. While the standard work week is 40 hours, this position may occasionally require additional hours including evenings or weekends to fulfill business needs. Flexibility and a commitment to meeting deadlines and supporting the team are essential. Occasional travel may be required.
Pay and Benefits
- Salary up starting at $82,000, based on experience.
