AccountingFull-time

Air is the leader in Enterprise Readiness. Our mission is to establish readiness as a real-time condition that is continuously achieved. Today, a dangerous Readiness Gap exists between what the front line needs and what is delivered. Our AI-native platform, Air Enterprise Readiness, aligns development, production, delivery, and sustainment into one coordinated execution system for government agencies and industrial suppliers. By revealing true capacity, exposing real constraints, coordinating resources, and executing at the speed of operational demands, the front line gets what it needs to succeed.

About the role

Air is seeking a highly motivated Senior Accountant to join our fast-paced Accounting team. You will be responsible for ensuring the transparency and integrity of the financial information that will support Air’s mission, its employees, and the national security community we serve. This is a critical role in preparing the company for public company standards within a dynamic, high-growth environment. You will work closely with the CFO and the accounting manager for SOX & SEC reporting, as well as the rest of the finance team, and will have the opportunity to help build scalable financial processes and controls from the ground up.

This role is a full-time position located out of our office in Arlington, VA. This role may require up to 5% travel.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to a seamless close process, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
  • Prepare and post monthly journal entries to ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions in accordance with U.S. GAAP and company accounting policies.
  • Support the preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements and ensure they reflect the highest level of integrity.
  • Partner in building and documenting SOX-compliant internal controls.
  • Collaborate with auditors and internal stakeholders to maintain trust and transparency.
  • Be an active participant in establishing systems and processes that position Air for continued growth.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • 4+ years of relevant experience, ideally in a blend of public accounting and corporate financial reporting.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or related fields.
  • CPA or CPA candidate.
  • Hands-on leadership preparing and/or supporting SOX compliance and PCAOB audit requirements.
  • Experience preparing for or supporting SEC reporting processes (e.g. Forms 10-K, 10-Q).
  • Highly detail-oriented; able to work independently with periodic CFO and accounting manager check-ins.
  • Strong Excel and/or Google Sheets and financial systems skills.

Desired Skills

  • Experience in or exposure to the nuances of a startup or other entrepreneurial environment.
  • Experience working with NetSuite.

We firmly believe that past performance is the best indicator of future performance. If you thrive while building solutions to complex problems, are a self-starter, and are passionate about making an impact in global security, we’re eager to hear from you.
