Senior Accountant

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals, reclasses, and adjustments
• Perform monthly account reconciliations for balance sheet and income statement accounts
• Take ownership of the month-end close process and help ensure timely, accurate financial reporting
• Analyze general ledger activity, identify variances, and research discrepancies
• Prepare supporting schedules and assist with financial reporting and audit requests
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting controls
• Recommend and support accounting process improvements and documentation initiatives
• Partner closely with AP, AR, Payroll, and FP&A teams to support daily accounting operations
• Assist with year-end close activities and external audit preparation

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of general accounting principles and month-end close activities
• Experience with journal entries, reconciliations, and financial analysis
• Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities and deadlines
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities

Location: Aurora, IL | Assignment Type: 3-month contract with potential for extensions | Compensation: $40.00 - $45.00 per hour depending on relevant experience | Must be located in the Chicagoland area
