Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain the general ledger across multiple entities, ensuring accuracy and integrity of financial data
  • Execute month-end and year-end close activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules
  • Perform cost allocations across entities and properties to ensure accurate expense distribution
  • Reconcile intercompany activity and process expense reimbursements
  • Process bi-weekly payroll, including payroll entries, reconciliations, and reporting in coordination with HR and external providers
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
  • Absorb assistance with external audits, tax filings, and compliance with financial reporting standards and internal policies
  • Track and reconcile commission payments
  • Absorb assistance with the development, documentation, and implementation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) across the accounting function
  • Contribute to process improvement and automation initiatives, identifying opportunities to increase efficiency and reduce manual work
  • Collaborate with property management, leasing, and operations teams to gather information needed for accurate reporting

Required Skills/Abilities

  • 5+ years of accounting experience, preferably in real estate, property management, or a multi-entity environment
  • Hands-on experience with accounts payable and multi-entity cost allocation
  • Strong working knowledge of GAAP and the full accounting cycle
  • Experience documenting workflows and contributing to SOP development (a plus)
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, lookups, complex formulas)
  • Experience with property management or ERP accounting software (preferred)
  • Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a collaborative mindset
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required
