The SR400 Express Lanes Project is a transformative $4.6 billion infrastructure initiative led by SR400 Constructors, a 50/50 joint venture between Flatiron Dragados and ACCIONA. Commissioned by the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) and Georgia State Road and Tollway Authority (SRTA), the project will add two 16-mile express lanes from Sandy Springs MARTA Station (Exit 5) to McFarland (Exit 12), enhancing mobility along one of Georgia’s busiest corridors. With a peak workforce of over 500, the project also includes dedicated bus rapid transit stations and significant corridor improvements. Construction began in late 2022, with substantial completion anticipated in 2031.
About the role
A Senior Accountant plays a critical role in supporting complex project accounting functions by preparing journal entries, reconciling cost reports, and ensuring the accuracy of project pay forms. The position oversees subcontractor insurance and bond compliance, assists with month-end close and budget adjustments, and establishes cost codes to meet evolving project needs. This role also supports field timekeeping, certified payroll, equipment cost tracking, and onsite invoice processing while serving as a key liaison between project teams, vendors, and subcontractor accounting departments. Success requires strong organizational skills, construction accounting expertise, and the ability to manage multiple priorities with precision and professionalism.
Responsibilities
- Prepares project journal entries and reconciles cost reports for one or more projects.
- Compiles and analyzes project pay forms to meet deadlines and ensure accuracy.
- Tracks insurance and bond information for all subcontractors.
- Assists in month-end closing, budget rearrangements, and budget revisions as directed by the project team.
- Sets up cost codes and cost types for project needs.
- Supports field personnel timecard entry, certified payroll, and reporting as needed.
- Enters equipment time entry and reconciles equipment accruals for project needs.
- Supports accounts payable and onsite invoice entry to track project expenses and payments.
- Works with project personnel to expedite payment and resolve issues.
- Acts as liaison between project team and vendors or subcontractor accounting teams.
- Maintains knowledge of Company’s values and strategic plan.
- Supports published corporate policies.
- Performs additional assignments per management’s direction.
Requirements
- 5+ years in construction field accounting experience or training preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Construction project accounting subject matter expertise.
- Proven ability to support multiple project sites with varying levels of complexity.
- Strong organization and attention to detail.
- Strong time management and self-prioritization skills.
- Verbal and written communication skills.
- Developing analytical skills.
