Senior Accountant

About the role

Our client, a respected and established organization in the mortgage legal services industry, is seeking a Senior Accountant / Assistant Controller to join their accounting team. This is a high-impact role for someone who wants to move beyond routine accounting and step into a position with visibility, ownership, and real career growth potential.

What You’ll Do

• Own Core Accounting Functions
• Lead Month-End Close
• Financial Reporting & Business Support
• Improve Processes & Controls

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Strong experience with general ledger, reconciliations, and month-end close
• Able to prepare and analyze financial reports
• Strong Excel skills and experience with accounting systems
• Detail-oriented, organized, and solutions-focused mindset
• Able to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
• CPA or CPA track a plus
• Experience in professional services, legal, mortgage, real estate, or high-volume transactional environments a plus
• Experience supporting audits, budgeting, or forecasting a plus
