About the role
The Senior Accountant will be responsible for the general accounting and compliance functions for assigned functional areas in 3CDC’s rapidly expanding portfolio of operating, development and predevelopment stage assets as well as the investment funds. This professional will also be responsible for supporting the Senior Accounting Managers and Accounting Managers in researching and completing documentation to support financing structures for new projects, the capital management aspects of refinancing of existing projects and other complex transactions impacting the entities.
Responsibilities
- Directs the work of a team of up to 3 staff accountants in preparing and posting general ledger entries on a regular basis. This includes monitoring accounts which will require frequent communication with individuals outside the accounting department. In addition, all applicable records must be maintained in accordance with accounting policies and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
- Assists the Accounting Managers in the preparation of the consolidated financial statements for 3CDC as well as applicable affiliates.
- Supports Senior Accounting Managers and Accounting Managers in coordinating annual audits and tax return compliance with external accountants.
- Supports Senior Accounting Manager in the Preparation of internal reporting, maintaining updated forecasts, and once a year assisting in the preparation of annual budgets for every operating asset.
- Responds to inquiries from management and other interested parties regarding accounting data, internal reporting, and cash on hand balances, etc.
- Completes special projects, as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent) from an accredited college or university in accounting or related degree program is required. Graduate degree in a similar field is desired.
- Minimum of 3 years of directly related experience in a leadership position within a public or private organization in accounting and finance. Candidate with both public accounting and private company experience preferred.
- Demonstrated skills, knowledge and directly related experience in the real estate, leasing, consolidation, internal controls and general accounting concepts.
- Strong research skills related to technical issues on transactions in terms of the internal revenue code and/or generally accepted accounting principles.
- Demonstrated ability to gain a strong working knowledge of 3CDC’s mission and ongoing development activities and to effectively articulate such activities in a verbal and written form.
- Strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills and work habits.
- Solid time management skills; ability to handle multiple projects, meet deadlines, and function independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated ability to recognize issues and deal with them directly.
- Personable, positive, and enthusiastic attitude with capability to deal effectively with people (both internal and external).
- Excellent oral and written communications skills.

Physical and Mental Demands
- Frequently required to sit at a desk/workstation for long periods of time.

Pay Range
$65,000 - $75,000 per year
