Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversight of month end close process
- Preparation of monthly journal entries and account reconciliations
- Distribution of monthly commission and reinsurance reports
- Reviewing general ledger items for accuracy and completeness
- Analyzing and interpreting financial reports
- Preparing monthly account reconciliations
- Auxiliary support for audit work papers
- Reviewing and preparing reinsurance settlements
- Performing various projects and analyses
- Collaboration with actuary, underwriting, and claims departments

- Technical aptitude for multi-systems
- Solid understanding of GAAP and STAT
- Understanding of business operations, objectives, and metrics

- Team-oriented environment with other financial staff, underwriting, sales, and actuarial staff
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and multi-tasking environment
- Clear and logical communication in both written and verbal forms
Qualifications, Education And Experience
- Preferred Bachelor’s degree in accounting
- Experienced professional with 4-5 years’ experience in corporate accounting and general ledger
- P&C insurance and statutory reporting experience preferred
Compensation & Benefits
The applicable base salary for this opportunity is $75,000 - $95,000. The base pay offered will be determined by factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, education, and any applicable minimum wage requirements. In addition to the base salary, this opportunity may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
