Senior Accountant (90 Day Contract)

About the OpportunityManta Search is partnering with an established company to find an experienced Senior Accountant for a 90-day contract assignment. This role will support the accounting team through month-end close, reconciliations, and cost accounting activities during a period of increased workload. It’s a great fit for a hands-on accountant who can step in quickly, learn systems fast, and make an immediate impact. Key ResponsibilitiesOwn key pieces of the month-end close, including journal entries, accruals, prepaids, and reconciliationsPrepare and review balance sheet account reconciliations, investigating and resolving variancesSupport inventory accounting, including raw materials, WIP, and finished goods valuationAssist with standard costing, cost variance analysis (purchase price, labor, overhead), and COGS reportingReview and reconcile fixed assets, capital projects, and depreciation schedulesPrepare supporting schedules and account analysis for financial statementsPartner with operations, purchasing, and plant personnel to gather information and resolve discrepanciesAssist with audit preparation and provide documentation as requestedIdentify process gaps and recommend improvements to close and reconciliation workflowsSupport ad hoc projects and reporting requests from the Controller QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA or CPA-track a plus4+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally within manufacturing or another inventory-heavy environmentStrong working knowledge of GAAP, general ledger accounting, and the full close cycleHands-on experience with inventory and cost accountingERP experience required MS Dynamics; ability to ramp up quickly on new systemsAdvanced Excel skills, including VLOOKUPs/XLOOKUPs, pivot tables, and reconciliation workbooksDetail-oriented, self-directed, and comfortable working with minimal ramp-up timeAvailable to commit to the full 90-day assignment Apply today to learn more!
