About the role

This position is responsible for generating revenue by representing Sourcewell’s enterprise solutions. The Senior Account Representative will utilize a relational approach to establish and differentiate themselves as a trusted advisor, represent Sourcewell at industry tradeshows, conferences, and networking events, and implement strategies to increase use of Sourcewell’s enterprise solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a customer contact plan to communicate product launches and engage potential customers in relevant campaigns to build new relationships.
  • Act as the first point of contact for customer queries and complaints, resolving them or referring complex issues to others to ensure appropriate responses.
  • Set clear objectives for each call or meeting; use standard materials to present to clients and ask relevant questions to evaluate interest and identify areas requiring further information.
  • Walk clients through navigating systems and leveraging solutions.
  • Identify potential accounts through client referrals, recommendations, and participation in trade shows and conferences.
  • Identify solutions that best meet agency needs and present them with a clear rationale aligned to the agency’s objectives.
  • Schedule follow-up actions and enter relevant information into the CRM system after each client contact to maintain quality data for retention and business development.
  • Assist with internal communications and collaborate with colleagues to build strong external client relationships and meet client needs.
  • Develop knowledge of the organization’s policies, procedures, and relevant regulatory codes to ensure compliance.
  • Obtain authorization from a supervisor for exceptions to mandatory procedures.
  • Respond to personal objectives and use performance management systems to improve performance; monitor team performance, allocate work, and contribute to formal appraisals.
  • Develop personal capabilities through assessment, training, coaching, and external accreditation to improve performance and fulfill potential.
  • Maintain an understanding of relevant technology, external regulation, and industry best practices through ongoing education, conferences, and specialist media.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in a related field OR a combination of post-secondary training, professional education, and related experience equivalent to two (2) years.
  • Two (2) years of demonstrated experience in government agencies, including purchasing, procurement, contract management, municipal operations, public administration, or other directly related experience.
  • Experience working with or within government agencies, including purchasing/procurement, contract management, municipal operations, or public administration.
  • Experience in sales, business development, or strategic account management focused on public sector clients.

Location

This is a remote position supporting the Central region, which includes Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Wisconsin, North Dakota, and South Dakota. Preference will be given to candidates residing in Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Wisconsin, North Dakota, or South Dakota.

Must be able to meet travel requirements for this position, which includes approximately eight (8) times per year, including occasional travel to Staples, MN for meetings, professional development, or team activities. Notice will be provided in advance.
