About the Company

Specialty Program Group partners with industry-leading specialty businesses to help them achieve their goals and optimize operations. We offer access to capital and investment, deep carrier relationships, creative thinking, product development, and broad distribution, while allowing businesses to maintain their unique strengths. Our leading-edge specialty expertise is backed by transformative digital capabilities and sophisticated data and analytics.

SPG Ancillary, a division of Specialty Program Group and a wholly owned subsidiary of HUB International, focuses on solving problems, creating better experiences, and delivering results for broker, carrier, and benefits technology partners. We specialize in dental, vision, life, disability, supplemental health, and leave management. Our organization consists of four integrated teams: marketing, client service, leave management solutions, and business operations. As an extension of a brokerage’s consulting and service teams, we support marketing, sold case implementation, account support, renewal management, analytics & insights, carrier eligibility, benefits technology builds, and leave administration & state disability compliance.

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Account Executive with a robust understanding of ancillary products, leave management, and extensive experience in a carrier or brokerage account management or service role. This individual will collaborate with the Sales team to quarterback large case service, manage ongoing account management, renewal, and sold case implementation support for an assigned block of business. Attention to detail and effective prioritization are critical for success in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Own the service relationship for large group clients, acting as the primary broker contact and internal quarterback.
  • Apply expertise in ancillary benefits, leave management, and carrier processes to resolve service inquiries, plan amendments, and carrier escalations.
  • Participate in discovery and finalist calls alongside the Sales Executive to support new business development.
  • Manage sold case implementation end-to-end, ensuring a smooth transition from sale to service.
  • Lead the renewal cycle, including benefit enhancements, carrier marketing, and add/issue opportunities to grow revenue.
  • Maintain accurate CRM records — service activity, renewal outcomes, and pipeline opportunities to keep cross-functional teams aligned.
  • Meet all established best practices and SLAs to deliver timely, quality service to broker partners.
  • Build strong relationships across internal teams and with external broker and carrier partners.
  • Partner with Accounting to support accurate, on-time revenue collection.
  • Execute continuous improvement initiatives under strategic direction from leadership.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher.
  • 5-10 years’ experience in account management or service role within a carrier or brokerage organization.
  • Understands ancillary products (dental, vision, life, disability, and supplemental health) and has comprehensive knowledge and curiosity for leave management.
  • Holds active life, accident, and health license.
  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment and is comfortable with organizational change.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Effective communicator with proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally.
  • Self-starter who excels with minimal oversight or direction.
  • Adaptable and capable of balancing competing priorities.
  • Strong sense of curiosity and willingness to learn.
  • Team-oriented mindset.

Work Location

This is a 100% remote position working in your local time zone. Access to a local office may be available upon request.

Pay

The expected salary range for this position is $160,000 to $200,000 and will be impacted by factors such as the successful candidate’s skills, experience, and working location, as well as the specific position’s business line, scope, and level.

Benefits

  • Health, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance.
  • Flexible Spending Account (FSA) and Health Savings Account (HSA).
  • 401(k) retirement plan.
  • Paid-time-off benefits including vacation, sick, personal, floating holidays, and company holidays.
  • Eligible annual bonuses, equity, and commissions for some positions.
