Senior Account Executive, Corporate & Lifestyle - Public Relations
BPCM is looking for a talented Senior Account Executive to join our Corporate & Lifestyle team. This role will support a varied portfolio of clients across industries including retail, fashion, beauty, and technology, helping brands define and communicate compelling corporate and consumer narratives, strengthen their reputations, and earn meaningful visibility with consumer, lifestyle, business, and trade media.
About the role
The ideal candidate is an energetic, proactive, and collaborative communications professional with strong media relations skills, established editorial relationships, and a sharp understanding of how earned media supports broader brand and business goals. This person will work alongside senior team members to develop communications plans, identify timely and creative story angles, manage day-to-day client needs, and execute media strategies around corporate milestones, product launches, partnerships, events, and executive thought-leadership.
Responsibilities
- Media Relations
- Develop and maintain strong editorial relationships across multiple levels, including business, retail, lifestyle, beauty, technology, and fashion editors.
- Secure strategic press coverage (features and long-form stories) in national and key regional magazines, newspapers, podcasts, TV, and online media outlets.
- Proactively pitch and secure editorial opportunities that advance corporate and brand narratives, strengthen reputation, and position clients and their leaders at the forefront of their industries.
- Identify and secure speaking engagements, panels, awards, contributed content, and other visibility opportunities for brands and executives.
- In partnership with supervisors, plan, develop, and advise clients on integrated and measurable PR strategies.
- Manage client initiatives and take ownership of specific projects.
- Ensure routine media inquiries are handled in a timely and efficient manner.
- Client Relations
- Serve as a primary client contact with the proven ability to manage and drive multiple client account programs.
- Oversee junior team members in creating, maintaining, and distributing editorial reports, press, and budgetary tracking documents in a timely manner.
- Demonstrate exceptional interpersonal and relationship-building skills; adept at developing rapport with clients to maintain strong working relationships.
- Respond to client requests promptly with enthusiasm and accuracy.
- Ensure that key milestones and projects are on track, within prescribed timelines, and are value-producing.
- Ideate, plan, and execute partnerships and activations.
- Advise clients on positioning and messaging, developing and/or editing brand communications to meet press-facing needs (including, but not limited to press releases, talking points, interview responses, etc.).
- Reporting
- Review media and reports compiled by junior team members on relevant client news and trends.
- Oversee press credit reporting according to client preference.
- Proficient in MuckRack, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.
- Writing
- Draft and contribute to press releases and client materials, such as Q&As and executive briefing materials, that encompass brand messaging and positioning.
- Support select senior executives' LinkedIn presence by advising on strategy and developing content that amplifies company news, industry insights, and executive perspectives.
- Oversee the creation, maintenance, and timely distribution of editorial reports, press clippings, and budgetary tracking documents.
- Exhibit strong writing, communication, and presentation skills to effectively articulate ideas to clients, agency, and colleagues.
- Team Management/Development
- Directly manage day-to-day activities on multiple accounts.
- Manage and mentor direct reports, including interns.
- Maintain close communication with supervisors or directors to ensure efficient prioritization and workflow.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of PR and/or Marketing experience working in an agency or in-house setting, ideally with sustainable brands.
- College degree—ideally in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field.
- Established editorial relationships across sectors, such as business and consumer media.
- Knowledge of and interest in corporate reputation.
- Seasoned writing skills.
- Strong project and people management skills.
- Proactively function as a friendly gatekeeper, handling confidential and sensitive information.
- Proactive about finding and presenting solutions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Meticulously organized and detail-oriented.
- Flexible in adapting to changing timelines and priorities.

Pay
The anticipated salary range for this position is $65,000.00 - $80,000.00. Actual compensation is based on a range of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and location.
Schedule
This role will be hybrid, with a minimum of 3 days in the Brooklyn office.
