Responsibilities
- Marketing new business (about 75%): Advising customers on protective safeguards, warranties, and coverage. Compare forms, endorsements, exclusions, and create summary coverage comparisons.
- Some renewals (about 25%): Recommending coverage/products/risk control recommendations. Negotiate with underwriters from other insurance companies on rates and coverage.
- Collaborate with team on presentations for existing & prospective clients.
- Check the accuracy of policies, endorsements, audits, etc., received from insurance companies and invoice accordingly. Follow up on requested changes, renewals, etc. with insurance companies.
- Maintain an accurate suspense system on all items requiring a response. Work with the team to develop an understanding of clients' business, strategic priorities, risk strategies, and risk management needs, and develop innovative approaches to unique client needs.
- Enter and maintain detailed information on new and existing accounts. Understand agency and company rating systems and websites. Communicate with company personnel regarding the client's needs and/or problems.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience managing midsize or larger accounts.
- Able to work in a steady, brisk-paced environment.
- Valid Property & Casualty Insurance license.
- College degree or equivalent work experience.
- Detail-oriented, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Self-motivated and seize opportunities to learn and deepen technical expertise.
- Organization skills required with the ability to multi-task.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail.
- Ability to establish and maintain relationships with clients and carriers.
- Ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a deadline-driven environment.
- Effectively communicate and present proposals to clients.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office products.
- Experience with Epic Agency Management Systems preferred.
Pay
The expected salary range for this position is $75,000 annually - $80,000 annually and will be impacted by factors such as the successful candidate’s skills, experience, and working location, as well as the specific position’s business line, scope, and level.
