Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with client and vendor contacts, proactively managing communications and ensuring seamless day-to-day account support.
  • Develop and execute media relations initiatives, craft newsworthy story angles, and support earned media strategies that generate meaningful coverage and visibility for clients.
  • Research, interview, write and edit a variety of communications materials, including news releases, media pitches, and other client-facing content that supports business objectives.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring work is delivered on time, on budget, and aligned with client goals while maintaining a strong understanding of the broader communications strategy.
  • Coach and support junior team members, delegate work effectively, and foster collaboration across account teams to deliver high-quality results.
  • Develop key messages and contribute ideas that strengthen client programs, support campaign objectives, and create opportunities for impactful storytelling.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in public relations, preferably within an agency environment.
  • Proven experience securing earned media coverage through strategic pitching, media outreach, and content development.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to develop compelling stories and messaging across multiple formats.
  • Strong strategic thinking skills and the ability to view client programs through both creative and business lenses.
  • Highly organized and able to manage multiple priorities, projects, and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Collaborative, proactive, and results-oriented, with the confidence to contribute ideas and perspectives during team discussions and brainstorming sessions.
  • Experience mentoring junior team members and working effectively across teams to achieve shared goals.

Pay

The pay range for this position is $65,000 - $75,000 USD/yr. An employee's pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, travel requirements, revenue-based metrics, any contractual agreements, and business or organizational needs. The range listed is just one component of DJEH’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, a Paid Time Off policy, and region-specific benefits.
