About the Agency

Sunshine Sachs Morgan & Lylis is a leading global communications agency built to navigate the complexities of a hyper-connected world. We represent the icons and innovators shaping culture—from global heritage corporations and high-growth tech startups to the non-profits, creative legends, and visionary founders who define the global discourse. Our expertise spans the full cultural spectrum, operating at the intersection of entertainment, social impact, corporate reputation, and consumer lifestyle. We execute seamlessly across traditional media, social-first outlets, brand partnerships, and influencer ecosystems. Whether navigating complex crisis management, elevating advocacy campaigns, or launching global consumer brands, we are storytellers at our core.

About the Role

Sunshine Sachs Morgan & Lylis is seeking a brilliant, strategic, and calm-under-pressure Senior Account Director to join our rapidly expanding Technology practice. This role is designed for a heavyweight communications leader with 10+ years of experience who is ready to architect the narratives of the next generation of Fortune 500 companies. Our Tech practice spans fintech, healthtech, gaming, VR, hardware, and the venture capital firms that fund them. We are looking for an entrepreneurial "player-coach"—someone who can navigate a complex financial stakeholder meeting in the morning and lead a high-energy media brainstorm in the afternoon.

Responsibilities

  • Integrated Strategic Leadership: Architect 360-degree communications programs that bridge corporate reputation, consumer brand awareness, and executive thought leadership.
  • C-Suite Counsel: Serve as a trusted advisor to founders, CEOs, and VCs. Provide thoughtful counsel that protects and elevates client reputations during complex issues.
  • Modern Storytelling: Produce high-impact, persuasive content—from sophisticated messaging and investor-facing materials to sharp media pitches and event submissions.
  • Cross-Discipline Collaboration: Act as the hub for integrated accounts, partnering with experts in social media, paid media, design, and talent integration to build "speed-of-culture" campaigns for tech brands.
  • Media Authority: Leverage a deep-rooted network of top-tier contacts at TechCrunch, WIRED, Forbes, CNBC, and beyond to secure placements that move the needle on a client’s bottom line.
  • Team Growth & Mentorship: Direct and develop a team of high-performing executives. Coach junior staff and drive team efficiency through consistent, constructive feedback.
  • Business Development: Drive agency growth by leading new business pitches and identifying organic expansion opportunities within our existing roster.
  • The Player-Coach Mentality: Lead the room but remain hands-on to ensure projects are delivered with meticulous attention to detail.

Requirements

  • The Tech Veteran: 10+ years of experience in PR/Communications, with at least 4 years of direct people management. Deep understanding of the VC landscape and capital markets.
  • A Strategic Partner: Think outside the box to create impactful media moments and navigate the needs of financial stakeholders and thought leaders.
  • The Nuanced Leader: Lead with high EQ and a calibrated ego. Know when to drive the conversation forward with authority and when to serve as a strategic observer.
  • Culturally & Digitally Fluent: Understand how social trends, digital communities, and brand partnerships can be leveraged to humanize complex tech.
  • Exceptional Writer: Fast, creative, and persuasive, capable of translating dense technical concepts into compelling human stories.
  • Entrepreneurial & Driven: Thrive in an environment where you can build and scale a practice, always aiming to over-deliver.

Benefits

  • Medical, dental, and vision plans
  • 401(k) with matching
  • Annual merit-based bonuses
  • Paid time off (PTO)
  • Fertility benefits
  • FSA for medical, childcare, and commuter expenses
  • Flexible work schedule and Work from Anywhere program
  • Summer Fridays and Wellness Days
  • 4-week sabbatical or trip to celebrate select anniversaries
  • Collaborative workspaces, rooftop offices, celebrations, networking opportunities, and community volunteering
  • Mentorship program with career guidance from day one
  • Training and professional development workshops structured by company level
  • Monthly "Meet the Industry" series with thought leaders
