SEN Teaching Assistant

About the role

The successful candidate will be a kind, caring and nurturing individual who can work effectively as part of our dedicated school team. Recent experience within a primary school setting, along with experience of supporting children with special educational needs, is essential.

Responsibilities

• Provide classroom, one-to-one, behavioural and administrative support
• Support and empathise with pupils who may face a range of challenges in their school life
• Work collaboratively with teachers, other teaching assistants, and parents to ensure the best outcomes for students

Requirements

• Qualified SEN Teaching Assistant
• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent

Qualifications

A good understanding of the Special Educational Needs Code of Practice will enable the successful candidate to support and empathise with pupils who may face a range of challenges in their school life.

Skills

• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Knowledge of SEN Code of Practice

Pay and Schedule

• Actual salary: £22,094 - £23,923 per annum
• 32.5 hours per week (Mon- Fri 08:30 to 15:30)
• Permanent, Term Time Only

Schedule

• Required to start from September 2026
