About the role
Sedgemoor Manor School is seeking an outstanding SEN Teacher to expand the learning experiences of their pupils with autism, ADHD, and associated complex needs. The ideal candidate should have experience teaching KS2, middle school, or KS3 students alongside SEND experience.
Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality lessons in line with the National Curriculum in KS3
- Achieve successful outcomes for pupils by providing a tailored education
- Create a supportive, nurturing, and stimulating classroom environment
- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of students, including those with Special Educational Needs (SEN)
- Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and external professionals to support student learning and well-being
- Manage classroom behavior to promote self-discipline and respect among pupils
- Engage in professional development and contribute to a positive school ethos
- Maintain accurate records and provide personalized feedback to support learning journeys
- Support the positive ethos and core values of the school, both inside and outside the classroom
- Work cohesively with key workers and the in-house therapeutic team to follow care plans and assist in creating educational schemes of work
- Provide the highest standards of professional practice and safeguarding
Qualifications and Skills
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with relevant teaching qualifications
- Strong understanding of the National Curriculum and effective teaching methodologies
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with staff, parents, and external agencies
- Demonstrated commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
