Semi-Skilled Laborer - DPW

About the role

The Indianapolis Department of Public Works (DPW) seeks a general labor maintenance worker to join the Operations Maintenance Section. This position provides general labor functions commonly associated with City municipal work assignments.

Responsibilities

• Provides general labor functions commonly associated with City municipal work assignments.
• Affords assistance with asphalt patching, crack sealing, concrete work, playground equipment repair, grounds keeping, and other related duties.
• Assists with snow removal functions.
• Cleans/washes equipment as needed.
• Operates small motorized equipment.
• Affords assistance with the daily care and maintenance of tools and supplies.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
• May be required to perform manual tasks that require lifting and carrying of objects in excess of twenty-five (25) pounds or more.
• A valid Indiana Driver's License is preferred.
