Laborer - Skilled

Maintaining Park Property

• Mows, weeds, and trims grass
• Removes garbage
• Cleans bathrooms
• Trims vegetation
• Shovels snow, breaks ice, spreads sand, sets out and maintains sand and salt boxes, and performs similar tasks in connection with snow removal operations
• Rakes leaves and seeds, fertilizes, weeds, and mows grass
• Shovels, rakes, and grades loam
• Trims trees and brush; picks up paper, trash and debris; cleans ponds
• Lifts and places materials
• Redirects traffic, cleans up debris, places barricades and lanterns, and performs similar tasks in assisting more skilled workers on constructions, maintenance and repair projects

Essential Functions

Works with pick and shovel.

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

• Some knowledge of the use of tools, equipment and materials commonly employed in municipal construction and maintenance work
• Ability to understand and follow oral instructions
• Ability to perform manual laboring tasks for extended periods, frequently under adverse weather conditions

Education And Experience

High school diploma or equivalent.
