Semi Driver
About the role
Sunstate Equipment Co. is seeking immediate hires for various positions. Pay is dependent on experience, typically ranging from $30 to $35 per hour, with weekly pay. The typical schedule includes Monday through Friday, with occasional rotating on-call schedules. The shift is from 7 AM to 5 PM, with overtime opportunities available.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the safe and proper operation of equipment for customers
- Complete necessary paperwork and maintain customer satisfaction
- Communicate effectively and professionally with co-workers and customers
- Handle loading, unloading, and securing equipment using chains and binders
- Adhere to safety standards and maintain a safe driving record
- Coachability and willingness to learn and adapt to meet Sunstate's standards
- Detail-oriented and provide superior customer service
Requirements
- Unrestricted Class A CDL with Tanker Endorsement and DOT Medical Card
- At least one year of experience in a semi, preferably as a wrecker or flatbed driver hauling heavy construction equipment
- Physical agility to handle equipment safely
- Customer-oriented and able to instruct customers on equipment operation
- Willingness to work in a bilingual environment (Spanish proficiency is a plus)
- Strong safety orientation and ability to maintain a safe driving record
