About the role

The Self-Perform Superintendent, Concrete will oversee all aspects of assigned projects, including planning, managing, and executing tasks. This role requires autonomy and decision-making, with responsibilities ranging from managing subcontractors and overseeing staff to developing work plans and tracking project budgets.

Responsibilities

  • Leads safety culture and investigates incidents.
  • Manages subcontractors and oversees project workflow.
  • Develops and oversees work plans for both self-performed and subcontracted work.
  • Coordinates and controls project site activities.
  • Attends and manages project meetings.
  • Tracks and manages project budget and costs.
  • Communicates project information to stakeholders.
  • Updates project documentation and approves cost information.
  • Evaluates and adjusts self-perform work progress.
  • Manages material and equipment needs.
  • Supports procurement and approval processes.
  • Selects necessary formwork, tools, and equipment.
  • Schedules and approves timecards.
  • Ensures quality compliance and conducts inspections.
  • Supervises pre-punch activities and project closeouts.
  • Gains understanding of project pursuit and methodology.
  • Participates in project planning and team coordination.
  • Identifies and recruits top talent.
  • Promotes a culture of diversity and inclusion.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or related field (Preferred).
  • 3+ years construction experience.
  • 1+ years field supervision experience.

Skills & Abilities

  • Ability to perform work accurately and complete tasks in a timely manner.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written (Intermediate).
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Intermediate).
  • Knowledge of project processes and their role in project completion.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with team members.
  • Proficiency in project management and accounting software.
  • Proficiency in JE Dunn construction technology and scheduling software.
  • Understanding of Lean process and philosophy.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of specific trades and scopes of work (Intermediate).
  • Knowledge of layout skill (Intermediate).
  • Knowledge of crane flagging and rigging (Intermediate).
  • Ability to understand and apply contract terms and conditions.
  • Ability to identify and recruit top talent.
  • Ability to build relationships and collaborate within a team, both internally and externally.
