Self Perform Estimator II
Next 150 Construction, LLC is a fully owned subsidiary of Gilbane Building Company focused on delivering comprehensive site services including self-perform labor and carpentry, equipment and operators, and temporary facilities services for major construction projects across the United States.
About the role
The Next 150 Estimator will work closely with the Next 150 Operations and Preconstruction team to develop comprehensive take-offs to support project estimates and formal proposals. This position supports efforts in the Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, Southeast, and Midwest with limited travel as project needs demand. The physical location is flexible due to the numerous geographies served. A background in self-perform estimating of Concrete, Masonry, Carpentry, Metal Framing & Drywall, Acoustical Ceilings, and Specialties, as well as knowledge of temporary services (fencing, fall protection, buck-hoists, scaffolding, and other temporary equipment) is beneficial.
This position can be located near any U.S.-based Gilbane office.
Responsibilities
- Review project specifications, drawings, and site logistics plans
- Complete accurate on-screen take-offs for permanent and temporary scopes of work
- Interact with vendors for material and services quotes
- Support Project Operations teams with Change Management
- Analyze project results and develop strategies for future estimating improvement
- Build a historical cost database based on Project Types and geography
- Develop and track Project Estimates from Conceptual Phase through Construction Documents
- Produce Clarifications and Qualifications to support estimates and proposals
- Produce professional take-off documentation to support project deliverables
- Identify indirect costs and General Condition items within estimate
- Possess and apply knowledge of unit prices and the material/labor component
- Establish and maintain relationships with subcontractors and suppliers
- Produce manpower estimates to coincide with material and equipment take-offs
- Establish estimating protocols to drive accuracy, consistency, and efficiency
Requirements
- BS or MS degree in Engineering or Construction Management
- 2–5 years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Self-perform estimating background (experience with take-offs and estimates for concrete work including foundations, flat work, slab on metal deck, structural concrete)
- Basic understanding of conceptual estimating
- Knowledge of Procore software
- Strong written and verbal skills
- Ability to work in a team-based environment
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs
- Understanding of Contract Documents & Specifications

Pay
Salary ranges from $80,000.00 to $120,000.00, determined by education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, internal equity, and market alignment, plus benefits and retirement program.
