Selector Lead
About the role
At Imperial, we sell, distribute, and service General Merchandise, Seasonal Products, and Health/Beauty/Wellness Products to our customers. As a Selecting Lead, you will be responsible for ensuring customer orders are selected accurately and on-time by assisting in labor allocation and troubleshooting problems within the Selecting area. Our Pick Lines (located on 3 levels) are the areas where labor re-allocation is needed. Selecting Leads will also assist with completing orders to meet productivity standards as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintain workload in assigned area and move labor as necessary.
- Monitor LFS for low batches/missing orders in assigned area.
- Ensure proper pickline flow and batch integrity in assigned area by utilizing and directing assigned Utility TMs in area.
- Promptly communicate any lack of available work or excess staff in their respective area to leadership.
- Work with trainers and also be a trainer to new hires; training them on selecting process and acclimate them to company culture, expectations, and connecting them to the team.
- Work with Supervisors to conduct selecting observations and join in coaching up lower performers.
- Picks low batches in zone.
- Collects and stray UFO/Damage items and brings them to appropriate receptacle.
- Reads order and numerical code to determine items to be picked.
- Correctly hear and follow directions from voice system (Lydia) through a headset, confirms order for customer, utilizing a scanner.
- Places items in totes, banding like items where appropriate, properly packing the order.
- Notifies line starter and stocker of any shortages.
- Pushes totes down rollers to next order selector.
- Marks materials with identifying information.
- Confirms orders upon completion by keying information into the computer database and/or using voice system [Lydia].
- Accurately pick and pack our customer orders ensuring a high level of quality and productivity.
- Maintains productivity and accuracy standard.
- Other duties and tasks as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Basic computer skills – requiring able to use a log in and password and follow simple instructions.
- Some warehouse experience preferred but not required.
- Ability to read a limited number of two and three syllable words and to recognize similarities and difference between words and between series of numbers.
- Ability to speak and understand in simple English.
- Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide by 10’s and 100’s.
- Correctly hear and follow instructions from a voice headset, or read instructions from a scanner, computer or paper sheet.
- Ability to read alpha and numerical codes.
- Equipment required for position – Lydia, Pro Glove, Headset, Radio
