Job Summary
Josselyn, a nonprofit community mental health center founded in 1951, seeks a SEL Consultant to provide school-based interventions for about 30 students requiring individual or small group SEL sessions.
Essential Responsibilities And Metrics
- Select appropriate students for intervention and provide referral and assessment forms for school support members/teachers.
- Attend MTSS/multi-disciplinary meetings to provide consultation and assessment for ongoing cases, inform referral processes, or provide guidance on student referrals and school wide SEL supports.
- Provide evidence-based group interventions as determined by student needs, leading or co-facilitating groups with school identified staff.
- Conduct individual counseling sessions for students needing crisis stabilization, brief short-term psychoeducational, suicide or homicidal assessments, or more long-term clinical supports.
- Partner with schools to develop and facilitate parent or staff workshops focusing on assessed student needs and skill development.
- Support students during disciplinary process through peer-peer mediation, brief counseling, and stabilization when appropriate.
Qualifications
- Master's or working towards a master's in a related graduate degree in social services.
- Experience working with children, families, or schools.
- Three years of experience working in school systems and/or community health-based organizations.
- Three professional references reflecting ability to perform clinical and school-based work.
Schedule And Compensation
- Monday - Friday 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM
- $50,000 - $60,000 based on experience
