About the role
MS NOW is looking for motivated producers to join their expanding breaking news team. This team covers the network during important stories and develops taped packages for Morning Joe. They also produce best-of highlights for weekend playback and assist in the digital growth of the MS NOW brand.
Responsibilities
- Create live segments with reporters and guests during breaking news coverage
- Maintain and deliver video, graphic, and information under deadline pressure
- Assist in the control room during breaking news situations
- Write and produce taped news packages for Morning Joe
- Aid in assembling taped hours from existing MS NOW shows
- Deliver taped shows to master control
- Support the social media team in creating and monitoring social media content
Qualifications
- Must have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- Strong writing skills and knowledge of American politics
- Strong research and reporting skills
- At least 5 years of experience in journalism (cable or network news, website, newspaper)
- Demonstrated experience producing taped news packages or edit-driven segments
- Edit room experience and breaking news experience preferred

Additional Requirements
- Willingness to work in New York, NY
- Unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States
- Ability to work overnight hours as part of a 4-day, 10-hour work schedule
- Flexible hours under tight deadline pressure, including during breaking news situations
