About the role

MCA, your trusted advisor for wireless communications, data, and security, is seeking an experienced Security Technician in the Tifton, GA area to support our fast-growing Security division. Responsibilities

  • Installing and servicing physical security systems/platforms, including CCTV, access control systems, intrusion detection, communications, and many other low-voltage systems.
  • Learning and contributing to technical and project teams.
  • Diagnosing and troubleshooting system issues.
  • Working as a valued team member and as an individual to deliver quality results to our customers.
  • Executing assigned projects and duties in a timely manner with quality results.
  • Working with trades and subcontractors assigned to projects.

Requirements

  • Minimum 1+ years of experience with the installation and service of enterprise-level physical security systems and platforms (Access Controls, CCTV, Intrusion / Burglar, etc.).
  • Ability to do device installation, headend equipment, cabling, and able to connect to the network.
  • Basic comprehension of mechanical systems, digital circuits, and electrical systems.
  • Basic understanding and ability to read and interpret building floor plans and diagrams.
  • Ability to use basic hand and power tools and learn and use test equipment.
  • Can troubleshoot basic issues across various enterprise-level systems.
  • Ability to obtain appropriate licensure.
  • A two-year degree in Electronics, IT, or applicable subject, desired.

Qualifications

  • Frequent standing, walking, sitting; using hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reaching with hands and arms; climbing stairs; talking or hearing; utilizing personal protective equipment to prevent exposure to potentially hazardous materials.
  • Frequent lifting (overhead, waist level) from the floor, bending, frequently utilizing near vision use for reading and computer use; be able to handle semi-frequent stressful conditions (cardiovascular).
  • Frequent work in outdoor weather conditions, frequently moving equipment weighing up to 50 pounds, occasionally ascending/descending a ladder, operating a motor vehicle, frequently positioning self to maintain computers or other equipment as needed.
  • On-call for critical systems maintenance may be required.
  • First shift hours Monday – Friday, with occasional 2nd or 3rd shift and weekends depending on project schedules.
