Security Team

At Boxcar, our product is a good time — cold drinks, exciting arcade games, great pizza, and even better people. With four locations across North Carolina, we’re not a chain; we value personality. What ties each spot together is a team that cares deeply about making each guest’s night a great one and looking out for one another. Our Security Team gets paid to keep the good times safe. We aren't looking for bouncers on a power trip — we want professionals who know the best security is a conversation, not a confrontation.

Responsibilities

• Work the door: greet guests, check IDs, and screen for weapons or outside alcohol.
• De-escalate first: use verbal communication to defuse tension and talk people down before situations become physical, following use-of-force and de-escalation policies.
• Handle the heat: when words fail, act safely and professionally to remove guests who are intoxicated, aggressive, or threatening others.
• Communicate: maintain clear radio communication with the team (earpiece in, head on a swivel) to prevent problems; contact local police when a situation calls for it.
• Document everything: work with management to preserve camera footage and complete detailed incident reports.
• Support the team: assist on the floor when the door is quiet — bus glasses, clear trash, pitch in wherever needed.

Requirements

• Non-negotiables: kindness, honesty, integrity, and consideration — no “a**holes.” One team, one dream: no silos, no passing the buck, pitch in even if it’s not your core responsibility; no job is too small.
• Experience in security, military, law enforcement, or any high-pressure people-facing role is a plus but not required.
• Sound judgment and the ability to make good decisions under pressure.
• Conscientiousness: take the job seriously without taking yourself too seriously.
• Genuine hospitality — you like people and it shows in how you work.
• Reliability: show up, on time, every time.
• Physical presence: able to stand/walk for 8-hour shifts and lift/carry/push over 100 lbs when needed.
• Night and weekend availability (when we need you most).
