Security Systems Design Engineer

Job Summary

The Security Systems Design Engineer is a key member of the technical team, responsible for designing and delivering integrated access control, video surveillance, and visitor management solutions for commercial and data center environments. This position is hybrid in our New Jersey, New York or Philadelphia offices for candidates who are local, remote for other candidates. This role serves as both a technical expert and project contributor, managing multiple projects simultaneously while ensuring quality, accuracy, and alignment with client needs.

Responsibilities

• Design and engineer access control, video surveillance, and visitor management systems for commercial and data center projects
• Develop system layouts, schematics, and documentation using CAD and/or Revit
• Collaborate with internal teams, clients, and vendors to deliver high-quality security solutions
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously across various regions
• Serve as a client-facing representative, building trust and long-term relationships
• Support business development efforts by identifying opportunities for repeat and expanded work
• Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends

Qualifications And Experience

• 5–10 years of experience in security engineering, specifically in access control and surveillance systems
• Strong knowledge of multiple hardware and software platforms (access control, CCTV, visitor management systems)
• Proficiency in CAD and/or Revit preferred
• Excellent communication and client relationship management skills
• Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment
