About the role
DJS Financial Services is seeking a detail-oriented Security Assistant to support the Security and Facilities Directorate in a federal contracting environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide general administrative support to the Security and Facilities Directorate.
- Gather, organize, and maintain information related to industrial and personnel security programs.
- Develop, establish, and maintain office procedures, files, and records.
- Affirm security policies and procedures in accordance with government and agency regulations.
- Support access and clearance administration, including issuing and tracking badges and coordinating updates to door and safe combinations.
- Maintain security-related documents, personnel records, contracts, briefings, and other sensitive materials.
- Prepare correspondence, reports, presentations, briefings, and other documentation.
- Conduct self-inspections and audits of security files and documents.
- Cook with program management and other functional areas to ensure security requirements are properly implemented.
- Serve as a liaison for customers and matters involving restricted areas.
- Track and maintain security databases and records, including eligibility information for U.S. citizens.
- Support credentialing and physical-access control processes.
- Affirm suitability adjudications and visitor authorization requests.
- Maintain confidentiality and safeguard sensitive information.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Must be a U.S. citizen by birth or naturalization to perform services under a federal contract.
- Must possess an active security clearance.
- Previous experience working in a federal government or government-contracting environment.
- At least two years of relevant administrative, security, credentialing, personnel security, physical security, or access-control experience.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to organize and maintain accurate records and documentation.
- Ability to follow established procedures and apply security regulations appropriately.
- Ability to exercise discretion and maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in security management, criminal justice, business administration, public administration, or a related field.
- Five or more years of relevant security or federal government experience.
- Experience supporting industrial security, personnel security, credentialing, suitability, or physical-access control programs.
- Experience conducting security-file audits or self-inspections.
- Strong problem-solving, critical-thinking, and situational-awareness skills.
- Demonstrated customer service and conflict-resolution abilities.
