About the role
FEDITC is seeking a Security Assistant to work at Fort Belvoir, VA. United States citizenship and an active Top Secret/SCI DoD security clearance are required to be considered for this position. This opportunity is contingent on contract award.
Responsibilities
- Take appropriate actions, in accordance with agency policy, to correct discrepancies.
- Escort uncleared visitors including contractors.
- Receive and process deliveries, packages, and mail up to 50 lbs.
- Respond to facility and personnel emergencies.
- In-process and out-process CAA employees and contractors.
- Open and close the CAA building in accordance with Army, CAA, and Fort Belvoir physical security policies, generally from 0600–1800 on weekdays; may include night or weekend security support.
- Process Visitor Access Requests and ensure incoming visitors have appropriate security clearances.
- Support the Information Security Program including provisioning/removing access to open storage rooms and SCIF areas, opening and securing classified storage containers and SCIF areas, changing X-10 combinations, protecting and destroying classified information, and associated administrative requirements per Army Regulation 380-5.
- Assist in coordinating and ensure seamless processing of foreign visitors and service members.
- Provide administrative support to processing security clearances.
- Provide security for temporary SCIF operations within the facility as required.
- Control access to the building and operate the CAA access control system, Integrated Commercial Intrusion Detection System (ICIDS), and closed-circuit TV.
- Demonstrate the ability to read and write effectively, follow written and verbal instructions, seek clarification when necessary, and understand and apply all relevant security regulations, policies, and procedures.
Requirements
- High school diploma or general educational diploma.
- Active Top Secret/SCI clearance.
- United States citizenship.
- Pass a background check.
- Maintain applicable security clearance(s) at the level required by the client and/or applicable certification(s) as requested.
