The Linq is centrally located in the heart of the Las Vegas Strip, known for its comfortable atmosphere and friendly customer service. The resort features 2,640 rooms and suites, nearly 75,000 square-feet of casino space offering world-class gaming, and 40,000 square-feet of meeting and banquet space.

Responsibilities

  • Efficiently manage personnel and resources ensuring all Policies and Procedures are followed completely.
  • Ensure all reports and correspondence are properly completed in a timely manner throughout the Department.
  • Answer telephones using proper telephone etiquette and dispatch to the appropriate departments.
  • Control responding forces and handle emergencies using the proper method while adhering to safety procedures.
  • Set standards, train, and evaluate subordinates in a consistent and tactful manner.
  • Perform all duties of a Security Officer as needed.
  • Determine personnel requirements on a daily basis to accommodate property peak hours.
  • Supervise the entire Security staff assigned to shift.
  • Hold roll call and make assignments at the beginning of shift.
  • Continually evaluate subordinates for alertness, appearance, and proper performance of duties.
  • Check all reports for accuracy and completeness.
  • Report all unsafe conditions identified to the Director.
  • Brief the Director on all matters that require attention, including incidents and pertinent information from the previous shift.
  • Supervise and conduct on-the-job training for all new Officers assigned to the shift.
  • Respond to all fire alarms and other emergencies within the property.
  • Render assistance to Executives and Supervisors.
  • Schedule personnel for special events, vacations, and any needed replacements.
  • Verify and approve all trespass warnings and detentions.
  • Investigate complaints about Security from guests, Department heads, etc.
  • Discipline subordinates when necessary.
  • Ensure the chain of command is followed regarding personnel grievances or problems.
  • Ensure all monetary transactions handled by Security Personnel comply with State Gaming Regulations.
  • Perform any duties and tasks delegated by the Director of Security.

Requirements

  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • High school graduate or equivalent is required.
  • Minimum of 3 years supervisory experience preferred.
  • 1-2 years Guest Safety experience or related casino experience required.
  • Prefer individual with two years of police, military police, or casino security experience.
  • Prior experience in a position with direct guest contact is preferred.
  • Ability to manage several tasks at once.
  • Must possess good oral and written communication skills along with a working knowledge of basic computer programs.
  • Must be able to obtain and possess a Nevada Gaming Card, an Alcohol Awareness Card (AES), First Aid & CPR certifications, and a current and valid Nevada Driver’s License.
  • Must be able to work any day of the week and any shift.
  • Must present a well-groomed appearance.
  • Must undergo eight (8) hours of ASP (baton) training.
  • Must be able to prepare effective written reports.
  • Must be able to get along with co-workers and work as a team.
  • Must foster teamwork and a sense of urgency in accomplishing tasks.
  • Must be able to work and stand inside and outside, sometimes in heat in excess of 115 degrees or cold as low as 10 degrees.
  • Must be able to physically restrain individuals when a condition of arrest exists.
  • Must respond calmly in crisis and stressful situations and make rational decisions when handling guest and employee issues.
  • Must be able to work independently.
  • Must be able to stoop, bend, jump, twist, crouch, grip, carry heavy loads, and maneuver quickly on level surfaces, as well as up and down stairs.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 60 pounds.
  • Must be able to push or pull up to 150 pounds.
  • Must be able to see and remember specific details of incidents and persons.
  • Must be able to give court testimony when necessary and write detailed reports.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Must tolerate areas containing secondhand smoke, high noise levels, bright lights, and dust.
  • Must pass the physical and written testing of the Western Division Security Academy (Controlled Force, Defensive Tactics, Legal Issues, Handcuffing, Tactical Communications, Use of Force, Report Writing, Searching Subjects, Emergency Response, Ethics, and Expandable Baton) within the first ninety days of employment.
  • Must re-certify between years 2 and 3 through the Western Division Security Academy and pass all physical, mental, and environmental demands as required.
