Responsibilities
- Provides lead direction at assigned client site(s) on assigned shift(s); acts to ensure that post orders are followed, that established rounds are completed, and that adequate reports are filed;
- Notifies proper authorities and client in emergency situations;
- Counsels and disciplines personnel as appropriate;
- Affords assistance in the training of Security Guards and review of post orders;
- Affords assistance in the submission of payroll and personnel information to the company as designated;
- In conjunction with company management or designated company representatives acts to ensure adequate security coverage of all posts;
- Presents, files and submits various reports as required;
- Inspects posts as scheduled and meets with subordinates to outline tasks and responsibilities;
- Mets with client representatives as scheduled or as needed to provide assurance that all security requirements are being met and to provide quality customer service;
- As assigned, in accordance with applicable company policies and procedures and in compliance with provincial and federal laws, carries out lead or supervisory duties that can include some or all of the following: interviewing, orienting and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; coaching and appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems; and, making hiring and termination recommendations.
Requirements
- 18 years of age or older;
- High School Diploma, GED, OR ability to complete the GED program within 6 months;
- Above average computer / technology skills needed;
- Impeccable customer service and team leadership skills needed;
- Must be able to remain calm and professional in stressful situations;
- Must have great attention to detail and remain vigilant throughout shift;
- Must be able to respond to emergencies with rapid / effective judgment and use appropriate escalation;
- All candidates must be willing to participate in the Company’s pre-employment screening process, including drug screen and background investigation;
- Must have a reliable means of communication;
- Must have a reliable means of transportation (public or private);
- Must have the legal right to work in NV;
- Must have the ability to speak, read, and write English and French in the province of Quebec.
Qualifications
- H.S. diploma or G.E.D., and 1 year of security-related training or experience sufficient to meet the requirements of the assigned site, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, as determined by the company.
Skills
- Knowledge of security operations and procedures;
- Knowledge of supervisory practices and procedures;
- Ability to provide positive direction and motivate performance;
- Understanding of a variety of security and safety devices and controls;
- Ability to learn quickly and carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagrammatic form;
- Ability to track and maintain schedule assignments;
- Ability to be an effective team member;
- Ability to maintain professional composure when dealing with unusual circumstances;
- Courteous telephone manner;
- Ability to adapt to various sites and changes in post procedures;
- Ability to adapt to changes in the external environment and organization;
- Ability to write routine correspondence, including logs and reports;
- Good organizational skills;
- Strong customer service and results orientation;
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients, at various social levels and across diverse cultures.
