Security Supervisor

Responsibilities

• Makes sure all on-duty Gallery Guards and Night Watch Persons are supervised and coordinated.
• Maintains awareness of all protection services and environmental systems, reporting any unsafe conditions.
• Safeguards the facility, collection, staff, and visitors under their supervision.
• Operates control rooms, monitors cameras, alarms, and fire systems, and keeps an updated log of activities.
• Reports any activity requiring Protection Services support or impacting operations.
• Supervises and assigns Gallery Guards and Night Watch Persons, ensuring compliance with work rules, policies, and procedures.
• Participates in protection services opening and closing procedures and assists with roll call as needed.
• Fills-in when necessary to maintain proper security management.
• Responds to calls from the Security Management Team to direct activities during unusual occurrences.
• Conducts formal and informal investigations of incidents, accidents, thefts, and museum employee issues.
• Trains subordinates in protective procedures, first aid, fire safety, and other relevant areas.
• Covers gallery or post duties as necessary to ensure proper security coverage.
• Writes reports about incidents, accidents, thefts, and other security-related events, documenting appropriate incidences and submitting reports to Security Operations.

Qualifications

• Experience supervising and coordinating security personnel.
• Knowledge of protection services and environmental systems.
• Ability to monitor and report unsafe conditions.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in operating control room equipment and maintaining logs.
• Ability to make quick decisions and respond to emergencies.
• Good organizational and scheduling skills.
• Basic knowledge of first aid and fire safety.

Pay

Salary: $50,000/year.
