Responsibilities
- Daily watch and patrol of grounds and buildings, on foot and in vehicle, to protect against damage, theft, or harm caused by intruders.
- Ensure building and gate security.
- Regulate vehicle traffic and maintain orderly flow and control.
- Ensure pedestrian safety at school crossways.
- Complete all assigned tasks on time.
- Monitor noise levels in and around classrooms and buildings.
- Examine doors, windows, and gates to ensure they are secure.
- Respond quickly and effectively to security violations and reports of security violations.
- Respond to emergencies by safely directing people and coordinating with emergency response personnel.
- Conduct and/or assist in security investigations and write reports upon completion.
- Provide a visible security presence at all special events and functions.
- Check the logbook for events daily and secure doors and gates as necessary.
- Provide traffic direction and parking control at events.
- Operate school vehicles, holding a current Georgia Driver’s license.
- Check vehicle condition prior to driving and report mechanical problems or damage to the grounds supervisor.
- Fuel and maintain vehicles as needed.
- Maintain excellent attendance and punctuality, adhering to scheduled work hours.
- Notify supervisor of late arrivals or absences according to policy and ensure scheduled absences are approved.
- Adhere to all policies and procedures set forth in the employee handbook.
- Accept any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 25 years of age.
- Minimum of two years of security experience.
- Excellent attendance and punctuality record.
- Able to work overtime for after-hour events when necessary.
- Possess cognitive skills necessary to perform job duties.
- Proficient oral and written communication skills.
- Able to interact professionally with the school community at all times.
- Must maintain a positive and helpful attitude in stressful situations.
Reports to: Security Supervisor. FLSA Status: Non-exempt, Full-Time.
