Salary Range: $19.00 plus bonus potential

Summary

A Security Guard is responsible for monitoring the assigned specific area, ensuring proper identification, evicting trespassers and writing reports detailing any occurrences during their shift.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Monitoring activities in assigned location on the company’s premises regularly to discourage criminals and ensure the environment is safe and secure
• Evicting trespassers and violators and detaining perpetrators while following legal protocols before relevant authorities arrive to take over
• Controlling the entrance and departure of employees, visitors, and vehicles according to protocols
• Providing detailed reports on daily activities and any incidents that may have occurred to management
• Using provided communication devices such as two-way radios in a clear and concise manner
• Performing CPR or first aid when needed
• Performing any other duties as assigned by management

Requirements & Work Environment

• Have current TWIC card certification (required)
• Must be able to bend, stretch, kneel, and squat
• Prolonged periods of standing or sitting
• Must be able to lift 40 pounds at times
• Able to communicate in English to our associates and guests
• Able to read, write and count to accurately complete all documentation
• Must have or must be willing to obtain and maintain CPR/First Aid certification
• Able to work safely in a noisy area with many odors present
• Able to work in an unheated building
• Willing to live in a remote, rural community
• Comfortable traveling by small plane or ferry to and from a remote setting
• Able to walk and/or drive on gravel roads in inclement weather
• In Season, the hours can be extended
