Security Specialist III
About the role
ServiceSource is a nonprofit agency operating within the AbilityOne program, hiring persons with significant disabilities. The Security Specialist III position is an advanced journeyman level role, working at either the St. Louis or Arnold facility.
Responsibilities
- Provide access control service, comply with NGA/DOD/Intelligence Community Directives/Regulations, and generate security reports.
- Receive, wrap, and ship classified material using FEDEX, UPS, Postal Service, and DCS, and maintain related databases.
- Create and issue Courier Cards for classified information within the active region.
- Accurately create, issue, collect Intelligence Badges, Common Access Cards, Keys, Hangtags, Visits, Mobility Scooters, and Passport Photos using multiple computer systems and software.
- Assist customers on a wide range of topics and be prepared to respond to all customer questions.
- Process clearances for visits.
- Support Ride Finders and Share-A-Ride services, participate in fairs, and issue appropriate level Temporary Intelligence Community (IC) identification badges to visitors and employees.
- Maintain logs and provide reports for visitor control center.
- Generate furniture setup work requests and monitor facility for cleanliness and initiate work requests for non-functioning or broken items.
- Oversee facility security and safety.
- Ensure uncleared personnel are monitored, have no exposure to classified data, and comply with security regulations.
- Support quality control activities and report findings to supervisor.
- Follow Performance Work Statement Guidelines.
- Respond to and investigate all security alarms, security problems, and system tests within 10 minutes to determine if the alarm is considered an "unauthorized entry" or "false alarm."
- Open/close alarmed doors.
- Provide support for special events as requested by Site Security Office or COR.
- Maintain and monitor access and end-of-day control/inspection logs.
- Issue Camera and Radio Passes.
- Provide Non-Duty-Hour Activity report to the Security Police.
- Report SMS problems to the SMS Administrator.
- Store all Non-Duty-Hour reports in a shared folder designed by the government.
- Assist and coordinate office moves taking place in secure areas.
- Maintain database of all security containers and vault combinations.
- Provide NGA Police with new records the day the changes are made at both St. Louis and Arnold Sites.
- Conduct briefings as required to include escorting, registry, construction review, key issuance, etc.
- Support and coordinate Rideshare/Ride Finder Fairs.
- Assist with the investigation of security incidents and inspections.
- Maintain file of all access control logs for a period of two years.
- Use NGA Form 5212.
- Issue SCIF Furniture Removal Authorization Labels after inspecting all drawers of office furniture leaving SCIF space.
- Perform other responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or state certified equivalent is required.
- A certification as a RAPIDS/DEERS Verifying Official at Visitor Control is required.
- 4-5 years security related experience is required.
- A valid driver's license and/or access to reliable transportation to perform work related travel is preferred.
- The ability to obtain and maintain an active Top Secret/SCI clearance with CI polygraph is required.
- The ability to be knowledgeable with and able to access and operate a Security Management System and various clearance websites is required.
- The ability to work with people internally and externally at all levels of an organization is required.
- The ability to be proficient with Microsoft Office and become familiar with corporate specific programs and software is required.
- The ability to effectively communicate is required.
- The ability to be detail-oriented and carry out work with the highest levels of accuracy is required.
