SECURITY SPECIALIST

About the position

This is a Security Specialist, GS-0080-09/11 position with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Little Rock District, Emergency Management & Security Office. This is a developmental position which can be filled at the GS-09 level with promotion potential to the GS-11 level. Promotion is at management's discretion. This position is located in Little Rock, Arkansas.

Responsibilities

• Conducts security assessments and develops security plans to ensure compliance with federal regulations and policies.
• Monitors security systems and conducts regular inspections to identify vulnerabilities and implement corrective actions.
• Collaborates with other departments to develop and maintain emergency response plans and conduct drills.
• Provides security training to staff and contractors on security procedures and best practices.
• Responds to security incidents and assists in the investigation and resolution of security breaches.

Requirements

• Master's degree in a related field from an accredited institution OR 4 years of progressively responsible professional experience in security-related field.
• Experience in conducting security assessments and developing security plans.
• Knowledge of federal regulations and policies related to security.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Qualifications

• Security clearance is required.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Must be able to pass a background check.

Pay

The starting salary range for this position is $57,280 to $99,880 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.
