About the Role
The Security Specialist - Administrative supports and manages security disciplines that ensure the protection of classified information, controlled unclassified information, personnel, facilities, and industry-related security activities. This role provides administrative coordination across multiple security domains to maintain compliance with Government standards. It also assists security leadership by monitoring requirements, documenting actions, and supporting day-to-day security operations.
Responsibilities
- Support GENSEC activities by assisting with the management of general security issues that may cross multiple security domains.
- Assist with INDUSEC responsibilities by helping safeguard classified, controlled unclassified, ITAR, and proprietary information handled under the National Industrial Security Program.
- Provide administrative support for NFOSEC by maintaining documentation and processes that protect classified and CUI information across program activities.
- Support PERSEC functions by helping track and document security eligibility requirements and personnel vetting actions.
- Assist PHYSEC efforts by coordinating measures that prevent unauthorized access to personnel, facilities, and sensitive materials.
- Maintain accurate security records, logs, correspondence, and process documentation to support compliance across all security disciplines.
- Coordinate with security personnel, program offices, and external stakeholders to support daily security operations and administrative requirements.
- Participate in meetings, track actions, and assist in implementing security guidelines and procedures across the program.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- At least 10 years of relevant work experience.
- Master’s Degree in a relevant field; or a bachelor’s degree and 4 additional years of relevant work experience.
Skills
- Knowledge of Government security disciplines including general security, industrial security, information security, personnel security, and physical security requirements.
- Skilled in maintaining organized records, logs, and administrative documentation that support multi-disciplinary security programs.
- Ability to interpret security policies, assist personnel with security processes, and ensure consistent administrative support across domains.
- Skilled in coordinating security activities, supporting compliance tasks, and communicating effectively with security personnel and program stakeholders.
- Ability to assist in implementing protective measures that safeguard information, personnel, facilities, and program materials.
