About the role
The Security Shift Supervisor position at Grand Casinos is responsible for overseeing the security department, ensuring guest and staff safety, and maintaining facility security.
Responsibilities
- Aid in the supervision of Security Officers on assigned shifts.
- Maintain adequate staffing levels by interviewing, selecting, training, scheduling, evaluating, promoting, and disciplining associates.
- Patrol the property on assigned shifts, identifying potential security and/or safety hazards, and reporting them to the appropriate individual.
- Assume Security Officer duties when necessary.
- Prepare and request reports on incidents involving guests, associates, and/or the facility.
- Maintain knowledge of Grand Casino’s facilities and special events.
- Guard all transfers on money and chips on the casino floor, as well as the physical transportation of hopper fills, chip fills, and credits.
- Interact with guests and associates in a positive, professional manner.
- Ensure a maximum level of guest service and satisfaction throughout the property.
- Attend departmental meetings and participate in training opportunities.
- Contribute to the overall success and efficiency of the team.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; some college or related training highly preferred.
- Minimum of two (2) years in security management, law enforcement, or gaming security, with two (2) years’ supervisory experience required.
- Two (2) years Gaming experience preferred; One (1) year investigation experience preferred.
- Must be able to secure a license from Gaming Regulatory Authority (GRA).
- Must be able to follow all relevant Detailed Gaming Regulations (DGR’s).
- Mille Lacs Band Member and American Indian preference will be exercised in the hiring process.
