Security Shift Supervisor - Distribution Center

About the role

The Shift Supervisor will be responsible for the security of a high-profile client’s facility, property, and surrounding campus for a designated shift. They will perform general security duties, enforce applicable policies and rules, and deter criminal activity and misconduct.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of the security function on-site, including staffing, scheduling, and on-site training of Allied Universal personnel.
• Ensure contract-required training and screening elements for security personnel are met.
• Maintain overtime to a minimal or preset requirement designated by Allied Universal.
• Regularly inspect security personnel and their job performance to ensure quality of service and contract compliance.
• Perform operations and related functions such as payroll, incident report review, and preparation of security surveys and post orders.
• Make recommendations for positive and negative personnel actions for those under direct supervision.
• Respond to client requests and make emergency notifications as necessary pursuant to site Post Orders.
• Provide direction and instruction to subordinates regarding their duties.
• Make disciplinary action and commendation decisions pertaining to security personnel.
• Make productivity and cost-reduction recommendations to management.
• Recommend physical security surveys and post orders.
• Recommend disciplinary actions or commendations for security personnel.

Requirements

• 1 year of security experience.
• Experience working in a warehouse environment.
• Prior supervisory experience.
• Valid driver’s license for at least 1 year.
• Ability to pass a background check, including a driver’s record review.
• Proficiency in using computers and tablets.
• Exceptional customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize under pressure.
• Comfortable performing foot patrol routes requiring standing and walking for long periods.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to pass any state-required training or licensing qualifications.
• Ability to pass a state licensing test if driving a company-owned or client-provided vehicle.
• At least 18 years of age (21 if armed).
• Ability to operate radio, telephone equipment, or console monitors.
• Demonstrated ability to interact cordially and communicate with the public.

Qualifications

Must possess one or more of the following:

• Service in the active-duty military, military reserves, or National Guard.
• Service in Auxiliary Police or Police Cadets.
• Minimum of one year of verifiable and successful supervisory experience in a security-related industry.
• Associate’s degree or higher in any discipline.

Preferred Qualifications

• CPR certification.
• Active PILB guard card.

Pay

$20.00 hourly.

Schedule

• 40-hour schedule.
• Swing, overnight, and combination shift supervisor positions available.
