The AUC Woodruff Library supports the teaching and learning missions of three institutions of higher learning that comprise the world's largest consortium of Historically Black Colleges & Universities (HBCUs) - Clark Atlanta University, Morehouse College, and Spelman College. Responsibilities

• Provides first response to Library customer service including, but not limited to, handling patron service requests and providing building directional layout.
• Makes routine rounds of the building and grounds by vehicle or walking.
• Responds to building alarm notices.
• Monitors all entrances during the arrival and departure of employees at main shift changes.
• Patrols the building, parking lots, and grounds to ensure security and prevent damage to or loss of company and employee property.
• Assists in securing the safety of the Library's property, patrons, visitors, and staff.

Requirements

• High school diploma/GED or vocational school diploma.
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience in security.
• Ability to pass a criminal background and drug screen.
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods; running may be required to address and report emergency incidents.
• Flexibility to work evenings, overnight, and weekends as required.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Military or law enforcement experience.
