Security Service Technician (union)

The selected candidate will primarily work in the downtown area.

What You Will Do

• Troubleshoot and service security systems to alleviate customer concerns.
• Advise customers and the customer care center on system status and process inspections.
• Repair or replace burglar alarms, fire alarms, CCTV systems, card access systems, and other security equipment.
• Work independently from a remote location with provided tools and equipment.
• Provide high-level service to solve building inefficiencies and resolve service-related issues.
• Act as a trusted advisor, delivering solutions and outcomes at the time of service.

How You Will Do It

• Locate and alleviate trouble with damaged equipment or wiring.
• Readjust, repair, or replace inoperative equipment and test for operation.
• Prepare trouble order forms to report temporary repairs.
• Coordinate inspections and/or installations with police, fire departments, or other appropriate agencies.
• Service and repair commercial security, fire alarm, CCTV, and card access systems.
• Provide recommendations and solutions to ensure efficient facility operation, including upselling opportunities.
• Provide quotes to support recommendations and solutions.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 3-4 years of experience installing and inspecting/repairing security or comparable product lines.
• Experience with card access, CCTV, and IP cameras.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Electrical/electronic background.
• Valid driver’s license.

Preferred Qualifications

• Fire alarm experience.
• Some college education.
• NICET II or greater certification.

Pay

$40.09 hourly rate, determined by the CBA/rate sheet.
